LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Ann M. Billings, 83, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2023, with the loving support of her beloved children and family.

Born July 15, 1940, in Little Falls, New York, Ann was the daughter of the late J. Francis and Ada (Sellman) Murphy. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy with the Class of 1958. After High School, she worked as a switchboard operator for New York Telephone Company, in Little Falls. Then she went on to work as a switchboard operator at Chicago Pneumatic, in Utica. It is there where she met the love of her life.

On May 10, 1969, Ann was united in marriage with Fay K. Billings, at St. Mary’s Church, in Little Falls. The couple shared a blessed union of fifteen years until his passing on May 23, 1984. Ann became a stay-at-home mother who was always there for her children through the years.

Ann volunteered at St. Mary’s Academy for many years while her children attended school there, always involved as a room mother and assisting in the cafeteria. She had a passion for loving to clean constantly, which was evident with her final job as a cleaner for the Little Falls City School District for many years, retiring in 2004, to stay at home to care for her grandchildren. Many friends remember Ann giving and donating her time on election days, always there to help the polls for county, school, and general elections.

Surviving are her beloved family, her daughter, Susan, and husband, Gary Grabinski, of Little Falls, NY; her son, Marc, and wife, Michelle Billings, of Surprise, AZ; her sisters, Joan Murphy and Eileen and husband, William Bennett, of Little Falls; her treasured grandchildren, Gary Fay, Carli, Kaytee and Cody Grabinski, who affectionately called her “Gaga,”; her stepsons, Fay, Jr., Bruce (Nancy), Chris (Elizabeth) and Brian (Dominica) Billings of whom she always remained a close relationship with; along with many close cousins and friends.

Ann loved knitting blankets for children at the Shriner’s Hospital and has donated hundreds of blankets over the years to them to provide comfort to the children in need. It is with this very special memory in mind that we ask and memorial contributions in her honor be considered to Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida 33607. www.donate.lovetotherescue.org, or to a charity of one’s choice.
