Anne M. (Osipovich) Cecconi

Mrs. Anne M. (Osipovich) Cecconi, passed away peacefully, on Tuesday morning, January 11, 2022, at the Wells Home Nursing Home, in Johnstown, New York.

Anne, the daughter of the late Peter and Anastasia Osipovich, was born on February 24, 1922, in St. Johnsville, New York. She graduated from St. Johnsville High School, in 1939 and was educated as a secretary from the Gloversville Business School. Anne was united in marriage to her loving husband, Michael V. Cecconi, on May 5th, 1946, when he returned from active duty in World War II. Anne and Mike were married for 50 wonderful years until he passed away, in May of 1996.

Anne was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and sister. Her main goal in life was to keep her family happy, healthy, and well-fed. Achieving that goal, she was an excellent cook, perfecting both Russian and Italian meals. Her chocolate cake was the best! Anne liked to knit, crochet, and tend to her flower gardens. Most of all, she loved spending her time with her whole family. Anne was a kind, sweet soul, who loved people, pets, her home, and Lawrence Welk music. Upon retirement, Anne and Mike traveled to Europe with brother, Dom and Sadie spent winters in Florida and traveled in their motor home.

Survivors are three of Anne’s four children: Louis M. Cecconi and wife, Mary Anne, of Little Falls, Linda Ann Cecconi, of Johnstown and Peter D. Cecconi and wife, Laurie, of Lowville. Her son, Michael P. Cecconi, husband of Helene, passed away in 2018.

Surviving also, are her cherished Cecconi grandchildren: Ryan and Joseph (Louis), Michael A. and Daniel (Mike), Roger, Ellexis Ward, Alison, and Katie Anne (Pete). Also, Carolyn Balshi; and two great-grandchildren, Mara and Andrew Balshi.

Also surviving are nieces, Sharon Fuller, Deanna Campione, Maryann Valikonis, Dalia Herringshaw, and Linda Millington. Her nephews are Richard Cecconi, Peter and Edward Babuska, Paul Tenerowicz, and Walter Sawchuk, Jr. Also, there are great nieces and great nephews.

Anne was predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Gladys (Donald) Marvin, Mary (Edward) Babuska, and Helen (Richard) Tenerowicz; brother, Walter Sawchuk (Loretta survives); in-laws, Dom and Sadie Cecconi and Anna and Jack Costello. Anne was also predeceased by two grandsons, Alan L. Cecconi and Richard Carley, Jr.; and nephews, Louis V. Cecconi and Lanny and Gary Marvin.

The Cecconi family sincerely thanks everyone at the Wells House for the excellent and compassionate care given to Annie for the last eleven years.

Anne was a member of the Holy Family Parish, in Little Falls. A Graveside Interment Service will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, in the spring of 2022.
