Appreciation for work

As a young woman, student and Army ROTC Cadet majoring in Political Science at Siena College, I have gained appreciation for Elise Stefaniks work in supporting veterans and military families in the North Country.

I have lived within New York’s 21st congressional district my whole life and am proud to say that the region is home to the largest population of veterans in New York State. Congresswoman Stefanik has provided solutions addressing challenges unique to military families. For example, ensuring they have quality access to health care and counseling for post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injuries, and other service-related ilnesses, post-service employment and career opportunities.

While approximately only 700 residents live in my hometown of Chestertown New York, I feel as though the voice of my family and neighbors is heard and represented by Elise. Within the span of two months I had the opportunity to personally speak with Elise at three separate community events, one including the 9/11 ceremony in Warrensburg New York. Despite the large size of the 21st district and its seemingly small impact on the national level, I feel as though Elise has never failed to give a voice to all constituents, ensuring each resident that every vote matters and does in fact make a difference. As a first time voter, I look forward to voting for Elise this November.

I am inspired by Elise’s national effort to increase republican women voted to congress and am excited for my future in politics with an amazing role model to lead the way.
