There were several things going on Thursday night in Little Falls, including the Third Thursday Wellness Walk-About, Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center had a Chicken BBQ dinner, a new artist in residence was checking out space at the Art Door Gallery in Canal Place and Chef John, well, he was being Chef John.

The Third Thursday Wellness Walk-About kicked off at That Little Place on Main and went to Body Siense at 54 W Main St, traveled past Tang Soo Do all the way down to the Fitness Farmacy location on 441 W Main, then came back up Main St passing Kress Physical Therapy, Yoga & Wellness and then it dropped down to the Just Dance Studio on Albany St, went by the Community Co-op, over to the Fire Station, headed up to the YMCA and then back down to Main St for Pilates Contrology Studio and CrossFit PSE.

Amanda Faitell won the drawing for the Walk-About.

At Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, they had a Chicken BBQ dinner for the Relay for Life. According to Casey Bayes “It’s our second food fundraiser. Our chicken and biscuits dinner was such a big hit that we thought we’d do it again. We’re hoping to sell out all 100 dinners.”

“We’ve had a lot of staff people interested from Little Falls Hospital, so I’m going to deliver meals there. Cindy and Mary are our chefs of wonder tonight,” said Bayes. “The Relay for Life is June 15th.”

Alpine just recently raised money for the Alzheimers Foundation and they were the third highest donors in all of Herkimer, Oneida and Madison Counties.

Alpine is also getting ready for their free community carnival, which is July 13, 2019.

Down at Canal Place, Esther MacRae was visiting the Art Door Gallery to see about showing her work during the upcoming Art Walk on June 20th. MacRae is part of a contingent of anywhere between 10 and 20 Manhatten artists that will be showing in Little Falls for the first time.

Finally, Executive Chef John Luciano was outside of the Canal Side Inn talking tough to one of his vendors that hadn’t shown up. Yup, with that big smile, I’m sure they were pretty scared.
