LITTLE FALLS, NY — Benton Hall Academy Elementary School marked the end of the school year with a vibrant field day, filled with games, relays, and plenty of laughter.
The event, held on a beautiful, mild day, brought students, teachers, and staff together for a day of outdoor fun and team-building activities.
Principal Joe Long shared his enthusiasm for the event, noting the joy of seeing students come together. “It’s just like being together and having fun for the sake of having fun,” Long said.
He highlighted the supportive atmosphere, with students patiently helping him participate in the games. “I didn’t think I could do any of these things, but the kids are very patient with me, so I’m actually getting a little successful,” he added with a laugh.
The promise of popsicles and the pleasant weather only added to the excitement, making it a highlight of the school year.
Mike Paragi emphasized the planning and flexibility that went into organizing the event. “It’s a lot of planning and teachers being flexible within the building here, but it’s a great way to end the school year,” Paragi said.
This year’s field day featured all-new stations, keeping the activities fresh and engaging for the students. While younger children focused on participation and collaboration, older students enjoyed a competitive edge, tracking points on scorecards to fuel friendly rivalries.
“A lot of relays, almost like team-building exercises,” Paragi noted, underscoring the event’s role in fostering teamwork.
The field day at Benton Hall Academy Elementary School showcased the spirit of community and the joy of active play, leaving students and staff with lasting memories to cap off the school year.
