Betty J. Neale

St. Johnsville, New York – Mrs. Betty J. Neale, 90, formerly of Allen Road, St. Johnsville, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, Oct. 31st, 2022, at Alpine Center for Rehab and Nursing, Little Falls, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born on Jan. 1, 1932, in Amsterdam, daughter of the late Raymond K. and Genevieve (Rae) Johnson. She was united in marriage with Francis I. Neale on July 11, 1966, in St. Johnsville United Methodist Church. He preceded Betty in death. Mrs. Neale was last employed as a housekeeper with Bard College, New York.

Betty loved puzzles and being with her animals, especially her cats and the bunny “hoppy” at Alpine Nursing and Rehab. She loved being with her baby dolls which she had several of. She was of the Protestant Faith.

Survivors include her loving family; her children, Linda Guile and husband Harold of Dolgeville, Thomas Jowett and wife Carol of Utica, Ronald Jowett of Mohawk, William Jowett of Salisbury, Tammie LaGrange and husband Harold Stratford and Judy Bauer of Johnstown; many cherished grandchildren, adored great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Jowett in 2021. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Edward Johnson and Shirley Johnson.

Betty’s funeral will commence at 10 am on Sunday, November 6, 2022, from the chapel of Mohawk Valley Funerals and Cremations, 7507 State Route 5, between St. Johnsville and Little Falls, 315-508-5131, where memories will be shared and her life will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Sunday at MVFC, prior to the service, from 9 am until 10 am. Burial will take place privately. Kindly consider memorial offerings in her name to Alpine Nursing and Rehab Center, 755 E. Monroe St., Little Falls, whose staff took wonderful, loving care of Betty and her family.
