Bingo will be making a return to the valley, as the Central Valley Central School District Foundation received a donation of electronic bingo equipment that was used at the former DeCarlo Staffo Post in Little Falls for many years. The equipment was donated by Tim Allen of TJ Allen Trucking in Newport, and Sandor and Krista Kozma of the Fitness Farmacy in Little Falls. Allen currently owns the former DeCarlo Staffo building which is being renovated by the Kozmas to become a wedding and banquet facility known as Venue 299.

“We are thrilled to receive such a generous donation,” Foundation president, JoAnn Duga, said. “Our goal is to periodically hold bingo nights here in the valley. It’s something that is missed and dearly loved by so many people who live here. We think it would be a fun way to raise money as we continue to enhance the educational programs for the students in our district.”

Social media played a role in the Foundation receiving the equipment. While renovating Venue 299, Krista Kozma, a former educator of 10 years, came across the equipment. After hanging on to it for a while, she posted it on Facebook in mid-June to see if there was an interest in it. Foundation members quickly contacted her for more information, which ultimately resulted in the Kozmas and Allen deciding to donate it to the group.

“All of us have kids,” Krista Kozma said. “They come first. Our future is investing in our youth. Those kids deserve everything.”
