The Little Falls boys varsity basketball team defeated the Cazenovia Lakers in Friday night action 63-40 to move on to a semifinal match against Clinton on Tuesday, February 27th.

Coach Bryan Shepardson said, “I thought our defensive effort was the key today. We did a great job of executing the game plan that we had and getting into the passing lanes and putting pressure on them – creating turnovers and opportunities for ourselves.”

“I’m just really proud of the total team effort. We had so many guys who stepped up today that we needed. Coltan has done such a good job all year of taking over games for us, and we had a lot of guys step up and help him out today,” he stated.

When asked about the upcoming semi-final game, he said, “Clinton is good – they’re one of our two losses. They’re playing very good basketball. They’ve got a lot of good players, and they’re very well-coached. It’s a nice opportunity for us because we only got to play them once this year, so it’s nice for us to be able to get another shot at them.”

Derek Milianta II led the scoring with 17, Coltan Frederick had 15, Dom Izzo had 11, and Wyatt Beadle had 10.
