The Little Falls Boys Varsity Basketball team defeated the Sherburne-Earlville Marauders on Wednesday night 75-53 in the Section 3 Class B First Round game.

Coach Shepardson said, “It was a tough game. I thought Sherburne played very hard and physical. I thought our guys did a good job recovering as the game went on – adjusting to what they were doing.”

“Sectionals are tough. Everybody’s going to give you their best shot, and we were able to grind it out. As we move forward, we’ve got to fine-tune some of the mistakes we made,” he stated.

“I’m just happy with the effort. I thought our guys played hard – that was key. When you’re not playing your best, the one thing you can control is your effort. I think that was the key for us to be able to win today.”

Coltan Frederick had 25 points, and Dom Izzo and Derek Milianta II had 11 each.

The Quarterfinal round will be Friday evening in Little Falls at 6 pm against Cazenovia.
