Little Falls, NY – The Building Local Business podcast, hosted by Carl Ulinski, has officially launched, bringing inspiring stories from local entrepreneurs to the airwaves. In its debut episode, Ulinski sits down with Dave Warner, executive director of The Creative Outpost, for a captivating conversation about building a media empire in the heart of the Mohawk Valley.
Warner, a seasoned photographer, filmmaker, and media innovator, shares his journey from running his first podcast 16 years ago—when podcasts were barely a thing—to leading the Creative Outpost, which powers My Little Falls (now rebranded as The Daily Post), the Mohawk Valley Express, and other regional media projects.
With a reach of nearly half a million people annually, Warner’s work has transformed how the community stays connected. He also discusses mentoring young talent, like intern Evan Martyniuk, who went from learning photography to becoming a licensed real estate agent, and the upcoming Mohawk Valley Gives Campaign, running September 15–19, which offers a 3-to-1 donation match for the Creative Outpost.
The episode is a lively mix of humor, insight, and practical advice for aspiring entrepreneurs, touching on everything from overcoming technological challenges to balancing work and life. Ulinski, a first-time host, brings a fresh perspective, diving into Warner’s experiences with infectious curiosity.
“The goal is to meet local business owners, learn how they’re building their businesses, and share their challenges and triumphs,” Ulinski says, setting the stage for a series that promises to inspire and educate.
