The Mounties pounded the wet field and the Comets to come out with their fourth victory in a row 26-13.

Coach Bryan Shepardson stated “It was a nice win for the kids. After starting 0-3 and to then win four games in a row, it’s nice for the kids, but especially for the seniors. I was very happy for them.”

The field conditions were pretty tough and “it limited some of the things you could do out there. But, we made plays when we needed to and I’m proud of the kids for getting the win,” said the coach.

Next week the team has a chance to make the playoffs, however, they need Clinton to beat Mount Markham or Holland Patent to beat Canastota. (As we posted this, Mount Markham had beaten Clinton 20-13, but Holland Patent won over Canastota 16-0).

“Like I told the kids, we did everything we needed to do, now we just wait to see if it works out for us,” said the coach.
