LITTLE FALLS, NY – Mrs. Diane E. (Hudson) Damico, age 67, of Little Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at the Seigenthaler Hospice Center, New Hartford, NY on January 11, 2021, after having spent quality time in-person and over the phone with her beloved family and friends.
Diane was born on June 14, 1953, in Potsdam, NY. She was raised in Illinois and moved, as a teenager, with her parents, David and Dorothy Hudson to Whitesboro, NY. She graduated from Whitesboro High School, Class of 1971. She worked at various manufacturing plants for many years until retirement.
Diane was very creative and especially enjoyed arts and crafts, including wreath-making and creating the most beautiful diamond paintings. She also enjoyed listening to music, reading, and spending time outside. She loved the ocean and talked often about her fond memories of spending time at the beach in Maine. Often one to reminisce, Diane enjoyed sharing memories of times spent at Sackett’s Harbor when she was a young girl. Another favorite pastime was spending time on the phone with family and friends, which she did daily and oftentimes, for hours at a time.
Diane was feisty and vivacious which could be seen in her smile and heard in her laughter.
In February of 2020, Diane was able to connect with her birth family and was subsequently able to meet many of them on a camping trip to Westcott Beach this past summer. She said this was the happiest time of her life.
Diane cherished her daughter Theresa who was not only a friend but also her caregiver. She particularly enjoyed spending time with her family including her town grandsons, Richard and Leo.
Diane is survived by her loving daughter, Theresa of Little Falls, NY, and much-loved grandsons, Richard and Leo of Johnstown, NY. She is also survived by two biological brothers with whom she shared a very close and special bond, David and his wife, Lori and their family of Rochester, NY and Joe and his wife, Christine and their family of Watertown, NY; other siblings, Stephen, Rick, Bruce, Walt, Don, Karen, and Christine; and cousins, Sandy, Rick, and Debbie. She is also survived by many friends, including special friends, Jaclyn, Tracy, Nancy, and Kathy.
She was predeceased by her parents, David and Dorothy.
