The first Family Wellness Fair was held Saturday at the Little Falls Youth and Family Center (formerly the YMCA). The Little Falls Connected Community Schools, Woolner Family Eyecare, and The Christopher Newtown Memorial Fund were responsible for the event.

There was a bounce house, face painting, music, door prizes, and giveaways. Several groups were on hand, including Catholic Charities, Fidelis, Youth and Family Center, Cornell, Snap Ed, YWCA, Woolerner Family Eyecare, the Little Falls Library, R4K, Herkimer ARC, Colere Community Center, and more.

Carin Woolner stated, “We’re kind of piggybacking off the back-to-school event that was held by Connected Community Schools last August to get these resources here. Dr. Woolner is doing vision screenings. We have mental health resources, physical health resources for the community, and other things to have some fun and get the kids outside.”

“We just wanted our friends and family in the community to know what resources are out there for them,” she said.
