The Fort Herkimer Amateur Radio Association will be assisting Troop-T, NY State Police, and Thruway State Police, watching the Thruway Overpasses in Herkimer County.
This is the 49th year for the event designed to keep drivers safe. Attached is information concerning the event, along with locations and information on the Ham Radio Operators.
Each of our Hams donates their time and equipment to this and many other events around the area to ensure that communications are available in times of need.
Each of the bridges is covered by operators in their personal vehicles, a net control station, and the club’s Disaster Action Response Trailer (DART Trailer) serving as an information site as well as an alternate net control location.
