Photo by Dave Warner – Matt Powers tries on the King Garlic costume in preparation for this weekend’s 18th annual Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival.

The 18th Annual Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival will be held this Saturday, September 14, 2019, from 10 am until 5 pm. There will be live music all day, free shuttle parking, demos, and lectures, as well as children’s activities.

The Mohawk Valley Garlic and Herb Festival is thrilled to announce the unveiling of their “King Garlic” costume. It was created by Mitch Biernacki of Daydream Hunter Creations, Troy, NY. Mike Vittiglio will once again be
King Garlic at this Saturday’s festival. They’ve had someone in costume hosting their festival for many years because they feel it’s just one more way to make people feel welcomed to Little Falls.

This is their 18th year asking thousands of visitors to come to Little Falls for the second Saturday in September. Because of their festival and the City’s other special events and festivals, many have discovered Little Falls for the very first time. (Some have bought houses and moved here because of the festivals!) This year when the visitors meet Mike, their very own King Garlic and the friendly face of the festival, they will enjoy a sample of our City’s infamous hospitality.

Eat, stink and be merry (actual stink may vary) with King Garlic this Saturday 10-5. Just follow your nose to Canal Place. Suggested donation $5.00 family groups $15 and children under 12 free. (Remember, your
donation stays local and supports three of our city’s non-profits, Mohawk Center for the Arts, Think Local and The Local Foods Incubator.)

Special thanks to Matt Powers for posing in our costume while Mike is away on business.
