The girls varsity soccer team bested the Wheatland Chili girls 2-1 in a Class C girls soccer state semi-final game at Cortland High School.

Nicole Failing tied the score in the first half with only two minutes left. Geena Morotti scored with only twelve minutes left in the game and it proved to be the winner.

Wheatland had one last chance to tie the game with a shot on goal with six seconds left, but Kylie Miles made the save.

The Mounties (20-2) will face Stillwater, 4-0 winners over Haldane, at 3 pm on Sunday in the championship game.

The two goals now give Failing a team-leading 29 goals on the season while Morotti has 10.
