The Village of Dolgeville is bustling with activity for the upcoming holidays. With Christmas on Main planned for Saturday, November 26th, a fundraiser for new holiday light decorations and local businesses holding special events, the village is busy getting into the holiday spirit.

Main Street Holiday Decoration Drive

Last fall, a storm damaged the roof of the DPW garage where the holiday lights for Dolgeville’s Main Street were stored. The lights were deemed unsafe at that time and were not able to be used in 2021. After being unable to decorate Main Street last year, The Dolgeville Rotary Club had an idea to create a fundraiser for the 22 new lighted pole decorations in addition to decorations for Plowe Park. The club reached out to the village and Dolgeville Forward, and new lighted pole décor has been ordered and will be installed in time for Christmas on Main on November 26th.

The Rotary Club and Dolgeville Forward are seeking donations to sponsor the new lighted décor and light up Main Street again! Dolgeville Mayor Mary Puznowski explains, “Sponsors have the opportunity to donate at levels of $500 or more, $250 or more, and any amount under $250. Sponsors will be recognized with their name/ business name or in memory of a loved one. There will be a lighted tree placed in front of Village Hall, and personalized ornaments with the donors’ names can be seen there. If the amount donated exceeds the total cost of the lighted displays, money will be used for more lighted decorations in Plowe Park.”

If you wish to contribute to the Village of Dolgeville Holiday Decoration Drive, please send your donation to Dolgeville Forward, Inc., P.O. Box 71, Dolgeville, NY 13329. Checks Payable to Dolgeville Forward, Inc.
