2nd SUNDAY of LENT
Last week we were in the desert confronting our worldly temptations. Today, Jesus invites us to join him on the mountain top to witness his transfiguration. Temptations, transfiguration, such contrasts these first two weekends of Lent set before us. “Lord, it is good that we are here.” In both temptations and transfiguration Jesus is with us. The promise of the gospels, and of Jesus’ life, is that resisting temptations lead us to a place of peace, joy, and love that no earthly temptations can give us. Resisting the earthly promises of wealth, power, fame and others are the only way to achieve transfiguration, to become the person God has created us to be. And Lord, how good it is that we are here.

The Christian churches of Little Falls will share simple lunches together on the Wednesdays of Lent. The next lunch will be this coming Wednesday, March 11th, at noon in the Parish Hall at Holy Family. All people, regardless of their religious affiliation, are invited to attend.
