4th SUNDAY of ADVENT
We are all familiar with the story of God’s annunciation to Mary. Today we hear the annunciation to Joseph, a story perhaps not as well known. The angel’s message to Joseph affects his life not just practically, letting him know that it is alright to take Mary into his home, but also spiritually. The baby growing in Mary’s womb, a child that Joseph is called to protect, support, and love, is also the Promised One, the Messiah. In Joseph, we find a model for living life in Christ in ways both large and small; from heavenly revelations to the minutiae of household chores and everyday family interactions. Joseph may not speak a word in the gospels, but his actions say it all: “Yes, Lord, thy will be done.”
ADVENT REFLECTION
Lord, you knew us before we were born, you who consecrated us into your loving care. Fill us with joy this day. Hold us in your love as our journey draws near to the birth of your Son. Make our journey of Advent a shining path into our hearts and into our homes. As you have loved us, may we share that love and joy with all who make this journey with us. Amen
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Wednesday of this week is Christmas, that most Holy Day when we celebrate the birth of the Christ Child, as God becomes human and we learn to take on some of God’s divinity. As we once again remember the birth of Christ, let us vow to take Christ into our hearts, our homes, our neighborhoods, our schools, and our places of employment. Let us vow to carry Christ with us wherever we go. The parish office will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, December 24 and 25th.

This week’s items for the food pantry are; tuna, canned meats, beans, canned vegetables.
Monetary donations are always appreciated.
