The Herkimer County Sheriff’s Office Welfare Fraud Unit, assisted by the Herkimer County Department of Social Services, recently arrested the following individual for various Welfare Fraud charges.

Kayla Combs, age 29, of Dolgeville, NY, was arrested for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a class D Felony, Welfare Fraud in the Third Degree, a class D Felony, Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony, Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree a class E Felony, Petit Larceny a class A Misdemeanor, Welfare Fraud in the Fifth Degree a Class A Misdemeanor and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree a class E Felony.

Combs fraudulently received in excess of $ 5,000.00 worth of benefits in which she was not entitled to receive over a period of 23 months.

Combs was processed on the charges and arraigned in the City of Little Falls Court in front of Judge Bannister. Combs was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to re-appear in the City of Little Falls Court at a later date.
