Janet M. Baker

Janet M. Baker, age 68, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, July 10, 2022, at the Abraham House, Utica, New York, following a brief illness, with the love and support of her family, by her side.

Janet was born on Sept. 29, 1953, in Cooperstown, daughter of the late Renee’ (Denison) and Jim Baker, and she was educated in Ilion schools. She was last employed with Van Allen Nursing Home, Little Falls, and at one time with the former Loredo Nursing Home.  For her whole life, Janet took wonderful care of others as a Certified Nurses Assistant.

Janet loved gardening, playing Bingo with all of her friends at the Rockton Plaza, Little Falls and at one time served as past president of the Little Falls Rock City Seniors.  She was recently honored and recognized with an award for her efforts with her fellow senior citizens. Janet was very active in the community and volunteered with Meals on Wheels.  She was happiest when in the presence of her family, especially her cherished grandchildren.  Janet was of the Catholic faith and attended Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, where she was a member of the Rosary Society and also sang in the choir.

Survivors include her loving family, her children, Cooper Busch and wife Stephanie of Little Falls and Ashley Busch of Little Falls; her siblings, Jill Burnette of Syracuse and Jim Baker and wife Rosalba of Chandler, AZ; cherished grandchildren, Donovan Busch, Jordan Busch and Steven Miller; son in law, Giovanni Rinaldi of Highland Park, Chicago; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Also surviving are her best friend, June Poirier of Little Falls, and her numerous close friends at Rockton Plaza, Little Falls.  She was preceded in death by her son, Jeremy Miller, in 2018, and her daughter, Trisha Rinaldi, in 2021; also preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Baker and Kim Baker.  The family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to the professional staff of Hospice Care and also the Abraham Home for all of their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a graveside service, which will take place on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 10 am in Mt.
