Joe DeLorenzo

On Monday, Jan. 28th, The Little Falls Public Library will host Keep Your Sunny Side Up! a concert by Joe DeLorenzo.

Mr. DeLorenzo is a Professor Emeritus of Herkimer College and a Deacon at Holy Family Parish.

He has performed in and directed many area productions.

Library Director Anne Nassar spoke with Mr. DeLorenzo about music, libraries and positivism.

Q. How did you choose the songs you’re going to sing?
A. I selected songs mainly from the Greatest Generation – their songs are melodious and lilting, and can easily be sung or hummed by most people. They are songs about the importance of perseverance, and doing the best we can to celebrate the gift of life.

Q. What do you hope people will get out of this concert?
A. A feeling of positivism and greater love for how popular songs from the American Songbook inspired people in the era in which they were introduced and how they still can – and do, now!

Q. Why did you volunteer to do a concert at the library?
A. The library is very special to me. It’s a place of art and creativity. The library is central – a crucial part of our community – a place where all people are welcomed!

This concert is free and open to the public. It begins at 2 PM. For more information, call (315) 823-1542.
