Little Falls, N.Y. – Kimberly Whiteman, RN, CEN, of Little Falls Hospital, a part of Bassett Healthcare Network, was recently awarded the Ahluwalia Excellence in Nursing Award.
The Ahluwalia Excellence in Nursing Award was made possible by the generosity of Dr. Prabhat Ahluwalia, who has privileges at Little Falls Hospital, and his wife, Kanella Ahluwalia. The Ahluwalia Excellence Award is given to a registered nurse who has demonstrated superior performance in upholding the values of Little Falls Hospital. Whiteman was chosen for this award because of her overall performance in each of the value areas including relationships, excellence, accountability, service, learning, and integration.
“Kim is an advocate of Little Falls Hospital’s mission statement, offering high-quality care with compassion to all who need our services. Kim is a great example of what a nurse should be,” said Shelly Cole, RN, nursing supervisor.
Little Falls Hospital vice president of patient care services and chief nursing operator Heidi Camardello, said, “Kim is knowledgeable and an experienced nurse who is looked upon by her peers as a resource and mentor. She is confident in her skills and assessments, thus making her an instrumental member of the emergency department team.”
“I feel very honored and humbled in receiving this award knowing that my dedication and knowledge in the emergency department is recognized,” stated Whiteman.
Whiteman has been with Little Falls Hospital since 1994 and was recently honored at the hospital’s employee service ceremony for celebrating 25 years of service.
