LITTLE FALLS, NY – It was a good debut for Thomas Moss at Veterans Memorial Park on Tuesday, hitting a double in his first at-bat to help the Mohawk Valley Diamond Dawgs (19-15-1) run-rule the Boonville Lumberjacks, 12-2.

JP Kuczik also went four-for-five with three RBIs in the win.

Kuczik (Fairfield) got the Diamond Dawgs on the board just four batters in, getting an advantageous bounce into left field to score Tyler Jones (George Washington) from second.

Mohawk Valley added another run in the second off the bat of Ethan Pues (Warner), who blasted a ball all the way to the left field wall to score Ian Oehlschlaeger (RPI). The debuting Thomas Moss (Trinity) came home one batter later on a balk by Boonville pitcher Riley Cahill (Dayton). Jones drove in another run on a ground-out, scoring Justin Hurd (SUNY Albany).

Pues would come home himself on a sacrifice fly by Joey Calabretti (St. Bonaventure).

Chase Triplett (Seminole State) got the Lumberjacks on the board in the third with a hard hit ball to right field. That 2-RBI double scored Angel Santiago (Marshall) and Andy Perez (Pitt).

Moss clawed back a run in the third, coming home on a ball clobbered by Hurd to left field, an RBI double for the SUNY Albany product. Hurd would come around himself on a throwing error by the Boonville (17-15-1) third baseman. Kuczik brought home another two runs on a ball that went parallel with the third base line, scoring Jones and Pues. Jaden Ross would get onto the score sheet as well, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Oehlschlaeger.

The game finally came to an end in the seventh, as Hurd brought home Brandon Hauk (Herkimer) on a sacrifice fly.

Christopher Collina (Wagner) went the distance for the Diamond Dawgs and picked up his third win of the season.

The Diamond Dawgs will continue their three-game home stand on Thursday when they host the Utica Blue Sox.
