The Little Falls High School Drama Club pulled in two large crowds to watch them present ‘The Addams Family’ musical comedy on Friday and Saturday night. The play was a spinoff from the Addams Family television series that was based on the characters from Charles Addams’ New Yorker cartoons. The 30-minute series was created by David Levy and Donald Saltzman and shot in black-and-white, airing for two seasons on ABC from September 18, 1964, to April 8, 1966, for a total of 64 episodes.

The play featured an original story, and it is every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father that they are getting married and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s ‘normal’ boyfriend and his parents.

According to Amanda Grimaldi, who was in charge of Direction and Choreography “Even the young kids knew about the Addams Family because of the movies and spinoffs. (The play) all centers around the dinner and just one normal night and the secret that they keep from everybody.”

“Lots of energy and lots of laughs from the crowd. We had about 430 people on Friday night. It was a nice sized crowd. We’ve had a lot of fun. We had a lot of snow days in our rehearsal schedule and we were a week short this year, so we’re lucky that we had kids who worked so hard,” said Grimaldi.
