The Little Falls Pop Warner cheerleaders have been raising money to attend the National Cheer & Dance Championship in Florida, which starts on Monday, the 9th.
Last night, they had a ceremony at Little Falls Elks Lodge #42, where they received a surprise donation.
Mark Regan said, “The Little Falls Pop Warner cheerleaders won the regional championship in New Jersey and now they’re going on to Florida to compete. They were doing fund-raising and in Little Falls Elks Lodge #42, specifically, a spaghetti dinner.”
He said that they saw their work ethic and enthusiasm. “When some had to walk away, others filled in. When we found out that they had a need for haveing their airfare paid for, we took it upon ourselves to reach out to the local community.”
Regan said they had people donate from California to Massachusetts, as well as the Lodge itself and the Little Falls Rotary. “We’ve exceeded our target goal for them.”
That combined group raised $2,622.00 for the trip.
Johanna Stock is the head coach and co-coordinator, while Karrie Cruz-Ward is the cheer coordinator and assistant coach. Patricia Pierce is also an assistant coach. The team members in alphabetical order are Kori Dillenbeck, Amira Essaadi, Adrianna Murray, Juleah Pedersen, Mackenzie Reed, Karalynne Smith, and Anicia Walker.
