Little Falls, NY – Cold winter weather does not hold back the city of Little Falls when it comes to event planning. Think Local welcomed a few new members to their committee recently and this has lent itself nicely to some new ideas. As a result, the city of Little Falls invites you to join them March 20 – 23 for their inaugural Restaurant Week!
Think Local member, Marica Bellico who is now Innkeeper for the Inn at Stone Mill, has been a leading force in planning this event. This was a perfect fit considering that The Café at Stone Mill is one of the featured restaurants. There are a dozen other eateries also participating in this 4-day celebration of food offering daily specials to cover lunch and dinner. Participating restaurants include:
- Lunch (11am-2pm): Ann Street Deli, Il Caffe, Bonita’s Sandwich Chef, The Café at Stone Mill, That Little Place on Main
- Dinner (4-9pm): Ed’s Pizza Place, Italian Feast, Copper Moose Ale House, Ruggiero’s Trattoria, Travelodge, Beardslee Castle, Bella Vista, Canal Side Inn
Jessica Kelly of Think Local expresses gratitude for all those who have helped launch this new initiative. “They say it takes a village, and in Little Falls it takes a city which is exactly what we see when we introduce new concepts. In this instance, we have the City supporting us along with the LF YMCA and Tourism Committee. Beyond that, we have more than a dozen of our locally owned restaurants agreeing to run specials for four consecutive days to make this happen. We find ourselves with another excellent example of community collaboration.”
Elaine Cobb of Think Local echoes Kelly with, “These events are all about shining a light on our locally owned businesses and showcasing all we have to offer in our city. Support by local businesses, organizations and individuals seems to be growing each year considering the ongoing expansion of the Third Thursday series.” Cobb adds, “This month, we are pleased to have Read Accounting of H&R Block as our event sponsor.”
Bellico reminds us that there will be a social media contest for Restaurant Week as well. Snap a photo of your Restaurant Week meal and post it to Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #LittleFallsDineOut to be entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card to the participating restaurant of your choice!
Additional specials will be offered throughout the City as part of this month’s Third Thursday, including “turkey bowling” at RD Gorge View Lanes 5pm-close, Story Hour for Grownups at
Gansevoort House Books 5:30-6:30pm, and a Coffee House at Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts 6:30-8pm. New businesses join the celebration as well – Rock City Barbershop is offering $15 haircuts to help you look good for Restaurant Week, and the new boardgame café, Meeples Mug House, will waive their game fee and allow guests to play for free if they wear green!
Reservations are encouraged to secure your seat at the table for Restaurant Week. For more information on Restaurant Week (specials and prices), see the Facebook event by ‘Think Local Little Falls.’ Third Thursday is a Think Local event co-sponsored by the Little Falls Family YMCA and the City of Little Falls Tourism Committee. Additional financial contributions have been made possible through a grant from the Dale Trust, and funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by CNY Arts.March - Final email
