The Little Falls Police Academy announces the completion of instruction of the Field Training Officer Course.

This course, completed in May, was approved and certified by the NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services and met and exceeded state standards.

The goal of the course is to prepare veteran officers for the purpose of directly teaching new officers, who graduate from an academy, to become successful Solo Patrol Officers and be ready and able to complete working in the day-to-day rigors as a Law Enforcement Officer.

Graduating officers were certified earlier this month for their agencies to utilize them for new officers who will graduate in from academies in the fall.

Those officers were from the Herkimer Village Police Department, Canajoharie Village Police Department, Little Falls City Police Department, Mohawk Village Police Department, and Dolgeville Village Police Department.

Instruction was provided by Chief Thomas of the Little Falls City Police Department.
