Dear Residents of the City of Little Falls,

This spring, the members of the Rotary Club of Little Falls adopted the task of providing flowers in the city. The Beautification Committee that had done this for so many years disbanded, and we went without flowers for two years. Because we were late in the season last year, we were limited on the selection of flowers available, but we managed to cover the majority of Main Street.

We’ve started earlier for next year and have ordered a beautiful collection of flowers that will brighten up Main Street even more, ordering more flowers along with a special combination of colors. As our committee grows, we hope to expand not only the number and size of hanging baskets, but also additional planters on the sidewalks this coming spring/summer and into the future.

The reintroduction of this program was made possible financially by our club and many individuals and organizations pitching in to help fund the effort. In addition, the city provided the watering truck that made it much easier for members of the club to regularly water and fertilize the flowers.

Last year, we asked for $50 donations to help raise the “seed” money to fund this project, and we’re reaching out again to ask for any donations that the community would like to make to help fund the program this coming year. If you would like to donate, please send your check made out to the Rotary Club of Little Falls and mail it to PO Box 181, Little Falls, NY 13365 (Please write “Flowers” on the memo line of the check.).

In addition to funds, we would like to ask if there are any volunteers who would be willing to assist us next year with the watering of the plants. It’s done early in the morning when there is limited traffic on Main Street, making the process much quicker and easier. You do not have to be a club member to do this, but we will need to make you a “Friend of Little Falls Rotary.”

Please consider assisting us, as buying the flowers is the easy part, but giving them the care and attention to flourish is key to making them beautify the streets of Little Falls.
