The Little Falls girls second-seeded and state-ranked No. 8 basketball team lost to Cooperstown in an all-Center State Conference title matchup 54-45. They had entered Thursday nights final contest with eight consecutive victories.
The Mounties last won a section title in 2014 and lost to Syracuse Academy of Science in last year’s Section III Class C final.
According to Coach Pam Munger “I’ve got a solid group of kids who love the game and make it easy to coach. I had four seniors that had incredible passion. They were unselfish, intense and listened to every single word I said. When you get down to the end of the season, you just get thankful for everything that they give you, whether you come out with a win, or you come out with a loss.”
“You gotta love them and I do,” said the Coach. Munger’s 422 wins are sixth all-time in Section III.
Seniors Olivia Langdon and Olivia Lindsay earned all-tourney honors. Langdon had 12 points, Lindsay 11, and Alexis Perrone and Nicole Failing each had 9. The team finished the season with a 20-3 record.
