Our story begins as a tale of woe. The icicle lights that had adorned Main Street for many Holiday Seasons were no longer up to the task. For a short time, the odds seemed insurmountable, then the Christmas in Little Falls Committee reached out to this community for help. Within a week, generous community members and Main Street First stepped up to donate the needed funds. Chet Szymanski, our City Engineer, provided technical guidance in the selection of the commercial, LED icicle lights you now see adorning Main Street. Thanks go also to the City and its hardworking DPW crew who worked tirelessly to install the lights prior to Thanksgiving for all of us to enjoy!
It would seem like this tale has come to an end…but no…there is so much more to come!
On Friday, December 10 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Sterzinar Park in Canal Place, we will kick off Christmas in Little Falls with a new event, “Celebration of Lights”. Named after the beautiful sculpture, Celebration, that adorns this park, our kickoff to Christmas in Little Falls will feature music, performances, great food, kids’ activities, and local shopping. A tree lighting ceremony will cap the evening at 7 pm. We owe thanks to the generosity of the businesses and residents of Canal Place who stepped up to make the purchase of this additional lighting possible. And again, thanks go out to the City of Little Falls and the City DPW crew for their support.
We hope you will join us. not only on Friday, December 10 for our “Celebration of Lights,” but on Saturday, December 11 for “Christmas in Little Falls” with events occurring all around this City throughout the day. For additional details on both events, look for our “Christmas in Little Falls” brochures, available at most local businesses.
