Pet Food Drive celebrates Market 32’s 10th anniversary by keeping bowls full and tails wagging at local shelters

Schenectady, N.Y. – Thousands of pets got a helping paw this fall thanks to Market 32 and Price Chopper customer donations. Across all 129 stores, shoppers purchased and donated 13,132 bags of pet food—each containing five dog or cat food items—to benefit local animal shelters and rescues in the communities served by each store.

With the support of Market 32 and Price Chopper teammates, the drive—which took place from September 14 to October 11—helped fill thousands of bowls and provide nourishment for animals awaiting adoption at local shelters, as well as pets belonging to families experiencing food insecurity through assistance programs. By joining together, customers have helped to extend the reach of these vital organizations to keep pets healthy, happy, and at home.

“Every bag of pet food donated is more than a meal—it’s a reminder that our community cares,” said Pam Cerrone, director of community relations for Market 32 and Price Chopper. “There’s no better way to celebrate 10 years of Market 32 than by giving back, and thanks to our generous customers, thousands of pets are being fed, cared for, and loved.”

The Pet Food Drive is part of Market 32 and Price Chopper’s ongoing commitment to nourishing communities through hunger relief, health and wellness, and care for families — pets included.
