LITTLE FALLS – Mary Louise Pietropaoli, 88, of Church Street, passed away on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, with her family by her side at the Alpine Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Little Falls, where she has been a resident since May of 2018.

She was born on March 3, 1930, in Lawtons, NY, the daughter of the late Clarence and Lucille (Schmitt) Kohn. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls, Class of 1948.

On October 11, 1952, she was united in marriage to her husband of 54 years Angelo (Gino) Pietropaoli. Mr. Pietropaoli predeceased her on October 28, 2006.

She was a member of the Holy Family Parish Church, Little Falls and its Rosarians.

Mrs. Pietropaoli was first employed as a switchboard operator for the NY Telephone Co., Little Falls. She then raised her family and returned to work in the Dietary Dept. of Little Falls Hospital for eighteen years, retiring in 1993.

She is survived by her son, Angelo (Gino) Pietropaoli and his wife, Suzanne, Malone and grandchildren, Elizabeth, John, Matthew, Thomas and Mary Catherine Pietropaoli; her daughters, Lucille Mercer, Phoenix and granddaughter, Kate Mercer and her friend Matt Maloney and Ann Marie Kuehnle and her husband, William, Little Falls and grandchildren William (Lisa), Amanda and Rebecca Kuehnle, her great-grandchildren, Nathan and Arrietta Kuehnle and Brayton Day; her brother, Clarence Kohn and his wife Joan, Little Falls; and her sister, Magdalen (Maggie) Gressler and her husband, Allen of Mohawk. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ruth Evans, Anges Dillon, Evelyn Bucklin and Kathleen Hart; her son, John Pietropaoli, on May 2, 2018; and a granddaughter, Mary Anastasia Peitropaoli.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, August 6, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., from the Holy Family Parish Church, Corner of Main and John St., Little Falls, with Mrs. Pietropaoli’s grandson, the Rev John Pietropaoli, celebrating the Mass. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer.
