LITTLE FALLS, NY – The Diamond Dawgs only needed seven hits to run-rule the Glens Falls Dragons on Tuesday night. That was because the Dragons spotted them ten free bases on walks and another two by hitting Mohawk Valley batters in the 10-0 win for the Diamond Dawgs.

The Diamond Dawgs jumped on the board just two batters in, thanks to a looping RBI single by Diego Tavarez (Spotswood, NJ/Wagner). His hit to the right field wall would score Cristino Tufano (Babylon, NY/George Washington) all the way from second base.

Justin Hurd (Warwick, NY/SUNY Albany) had a strange trip around the bases in the second. He was hit by a pitch to get on base, reached second on a fielder’s choice, then made it to third on a throwing error. He would then score on a passed ball.

Brody Rasmussen (Meridian, ID/Maine) doubled the Mohawk Valley lead in the fourth by crushing his third home run of the season over the left-field fence. The hit scored himself and Luke Nomura (Maplewood, NJ/Fairfield). Levi McAllister would add another two RBIs on a single to left field.

Mohawk Valley put up another four in the sixth, thanks to triples by McAllister and Tavarez to bring the lead to ten. That would be all closer Gavin Miller (Baldwinsville, NY/George Washington) would need, only allowing one walk in the seventh to send the fans home early, but happy.

Austin Barnao (Ticonderoga, NY/Lynn) got the win for Mohawk Valley, their fourth in a row (15-10). JJ Trudeau (Cohoes, NY/Dominican) got the loss for Glens Falls (4-22).

Mohawk Valley will travel to Saugerties on Wednesday to take on the Stallions before three games over the next three days at Veteran’s Memorial Park. Their first game back will be a doubleheader on Thursday against the Albany Baseball Club. The Dragons will travel to Damaschke Field on Wednesday to take on the Oneonta Outlaws.
