The Monroe Street book sale had beautiful weather today so that they could clear the shelves inside the house and bring out the books.
Al Kazmerski came up with the idea and said, “I had a collection of hundreds of books I’d collected over a period of years, and talking with the neighbors I found out they had the same problem. So we thought it’d be a good idea to get together in mass and see if we could get rid of some of these.”
They started at nine this morning, and several people have come out to see what’s available . “It’s been going pretty good. A young boy came up who was a Mickey Mantle fan and he took six of my Mickey Mantle books and he was happy as could be.”
He said it was just a chance for the neighbors to “Get together and talk a little bit and have a good time.”
