The girl’s varsity basketball team shot out of the gate Tuesday night and by halftime, they were up 31-15 against the West Canada Valley Indians. They slowed down a bit in the second half, but by the end of the night, they had handed the Indians their first CSC loss of the season 51-37.

Coach Pam Munger game to the game ill and stated, “My kids came today and they knew they had to step it up because I was under the weather and I was going to try to do what I could on the sideline coaching and pushing, but they played with a lot of heart today.”

“I’m very proud of them stepping up and playing with everything that they had. It was a great game,” she said.

Olivia Lindsay had 16 points, Shayna Straney had 13, while Riley Dunn and Gabby Sylstra each had 8. The Mounties move to 6-6 overall and 6-4 in the CSC. Their next home game is tomorrow night against Cooperstown at 7 pm.
