Tasting Event Scheduled at the Little Falls Bluegrass Festival September 7th from 2 pm to 11 pm

Little Falls, NY—Bluegrass, Bikes & BBQ festival organizers just announced that DikinDurt Distillery, a Kentucky bourbon distiller out of Herkimer, will be participating in this year’s September 7th event at Canal Place in Little Falls, NY from 2 pm to 11 pm.

“We’re excited to have DikinDurt Distillery join the festival this year with a tasting event. They have a lot of fans in the area and their success in creating award-winning bourbon in the Valley from New York State grains has been an incredible story,” noted David E.Warner, Event Director for Bluegrass, Bikes & BBQ.

DinkinDurt is the first company to bring local moonshine to the Mohawk Valley area. Their moonshine is handcrafted with New York State grown grains and distilled in the hills of the Mohawk Valley with a custom 100-gallon copper still built from a real Kentucky moonshiner. All-natural spirits are infused with fruits or rested on oak and finished with local honey or maple syrup for a sweet smooth smoky flavor.

According to DikinDurt co-owner Elizabeth Stack, they just bottled a new batch of their bourbon whiskey on August 19th. “we’re the first distillery in Herkimer County, and this bourbon whiskey is coming out one barrel at a time, as it has had to age for over a year. There will be limited quantities of this one, but we’re bringing a little bit of everything that we make,” commented Stack.

Stack is sure that the latest brew will be a winner as well. “We haven’t entered it yet because we haven’t had enough of it to send out. Everyone keeps buying it,” she said.

Warner is looking forward to an exciting event this year with four lively bands playing throughout the day, BBQ, hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, gyros, beer and now a bourbon tasting. The festival will also have interactive workshops during the early part of the day with participating musicians talking about songwriting and demonstrating traditional bluegrass instruments including banjos, fiddles, guitars, and harmonicas to name a few.
