One more time to ‘Cruise-Inn’

By Dave Warner

Thursday night was one of the last nights of Cruise-Inn at Rotary Park. Mike Bulger, the organizer of the event, said, “The year has been a little slow, but it’s picking up. All our 50/50 money is going to ‘Shop with a Cop’ in December. The money has already been set aside for the fireworks on the 31st of August, and we’re good to go. We just hope mother nature works with us.”

He said they’ve been blessed because they’ve only had three rainouts this season. “There’s one promoter that his shows, and he’s only had one rainout this year. I’m pretty lucky, and I’m counting my blessings.”

“We’ve had lawn and garden tractors here. The sponsors have just been amazing. We just got a $50 gift certificate from La Taqueria, so somebody’s going to be eating tacos for the rest of the summer.”

Bulger said that it started slow last night, but they ended up with a big crowd. “I didn’t think we’d get this many.”

Two weeks from now, August 31st, weather permitting, will be the Cruise-Inn finale, with the show running from 5-8 and a large fireworks display after that.
