Beginning Thursday, June 4th, at 7 PM, The Little Falls Public Library will offer a free online class about the Civil War. Class dates are the 4th, 11th, and 18th.

Instructor Giacomo Calabria is a graduate of Susquehanna University. He has previously given talks at SUNY Albany and Albany Medical College and has written several articles about the Civil War.

The first class will cover the prelude to war, the Peninsula Campaign, Antietam, Shiloh, and the debate over emancipation.

The second class will focus on 1863, namely Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, and the Second Battle of Fort Wagner.

The final class will focus on the last two years of the war (1864/5), the battles of the Wilderness, the siege of Petersburg, Atlanta, and Sherman’s March to the Sea.

For those unfamiliar with Zoom, it’s a platform that allows you to see, hear, and interact with others, via your cell phone or computer. You do not have to register, and there is no cost.
