Parting is such sweet sorrow. Or so they say. But parting it is. Kay and I are retiring from public service. And after 25 years with the Hunger Coalition, it’s about time.

The organization couldn’t be in better hands with Kelly Brown ruling the roost. Since there are far too many people to thank, suffice it to say that you know who you are. But it’d be criminal if I didn’t give a shout-out to Dave Warner (mylittlefalls.com), the Herkimer County Food Pantry Directors (Sue Tucker), Gram Lorraine Coordinators, Laura Hailston (Cookie Corps), Ron Schoonmaker (Flag Man), Roy Henry (Herkimer Elks), Toe Petkovsek, Rudy Scialdo II, Brownie, Devin Mac and Joe Long (Benton Hall Academy).

Kay and I leave with the pantries in great shape, the Fallen Stars Memorial waiting to be displayed, and memories of the thousands of area children who enjoyed a Christmas thanks to the Gram Lorraine Children’s Christmas Program and participated in the Six Angels Fire Prevention Projects.

I encourage the general public to continue to support local charities. By doing so, you’ll feel better for the experience and those benefactors of your generosity will feel a whole lot better.

God Bless You All, and Stay Well.
