Honoring the birth of our nation, an “All American Festival of Hymns” will be presented at the Old Palatine Church located between Nelliston and St. Johnsville on Sunday, July 3 at 4:00 p.m.

The festival will be led by organist Roberta Rowland-Raybold, daughter of the church’s original pipe organ builder, Robert S. Rowland, a native of St. Johnsville.

Rowland-Raybold is Organist and Director of Music at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is well known in the Mohawk Valley, having served as Director of Music at Christ Church, Cooperstown, and First Lutheran Church, Albany. She has coordinated summer concerts at the Palatine Church since 1997.

This year will mark the historic site’s 250th anniversary.

This commemorative program will incorporate patriotic music, congregational singing, vocal and instrumental offerings, and compositions for organ composed by the recitalist.

The church’s rich history during the Revolutionary War stands today as a beacon of hope in the Mohawk Valley.
