Little Falls Hospital is pleased to announce that Patty Seifried, RN, Infection Control Coordinator, is recipient of the Zero Harm Hero Award. Patty has been with Little Falls Hospital, part of the Bassett Healthcare Network, since 1978.

The colleagues that nominated her, describe her this way: “…Patty is always willing to educate, correct staff, and patients, in areas that can be a risk for health and safety. During the current COVID-19 pandemic, she has dedicated many hours above and beyond her regular schedule to educate staff on proper PPE including Fit Testing ALL staff for proper N95’s. She has been a leader in the COVID processes and we feel she deserves recognition for her continued dedication and long hours on work that promotes the health and safety of our hospital and community. She takes personal responsibility for our safety and the safety of our patients.”

In September, when Oneonta had a COVID-19 outbreak, Patty volunteered to work with Bassett Healthcare Network and the New York State Department of Health for the rapid testing response.

Patty remarked, “I am so grateful for the generosity and recognition at a time when we all need to stand together. I have always been proud to work at Little Falls Hospital (42 years now).”

The goal for Little Falls Hospital is to ensure that extraordinary care is being delivered to every patient. The Zero Harm Hero Award was created to help promote an already strong culture of quality, safety, and patient satisfaction, assuring high-reliability care for our patients, staff, and visitors. This award recognizes any Little Falls Hospital employee who demonstrates a commitment to this work.

Patty lives in West Winfield with her husband, Lee. Her son, Derek, is in the United States Army stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado Springs, CO.
