Road Work Report for the Week Beginning May 1, 2023

ONEIDA COUNTY

Town of New Hartford, Town of Paris: (D#264823) Route 8 between Genesee Street and Pinnacle Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to signpost installations. 

Town of New Hartford: (D#264961) Route 5A @ Henderson Street. There will be concrete work being performed with no impact to traffic. 

Town of New Hartford: (SIN 26129, 26130) Route 8, Route 840 between Genesee Street and Old Campion Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to overhead sign inspection. 

Village of New Hartford: (D#264929) Genesee Street between Oxford Road and Route 12. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions due to signal work. 

City of Utica: (D#264847) Route 5/8/12 between Lomond Place and Burrstone Road. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions. The on ramps for Route 5/8/12 going northbound and southbound from French Road will be closed with a detour in place. The detour will be French Road to Burrstone Road to Route 5/8/12. This will be for repairs to the bridges over French Road. There is also a speed limit reduction of 45MPH through the work zone. 

City of Utica: Oriskany Street off ramp and Route 12 off ramp to State Street, Route 12north bound. Motorists will encounter the full ramp closure with a detour in place due to construction activities. The detour will be routed to Varick Street, left on to Lafayette Street and left onto State Street. 

Village of Yorkville: (D#264958) Champlin Ave between Campbell Ave and Whitesboro Street. Motorists will encounter a flagging operation Monday and Tuesday. A full northbound lane closure with a signed detour in place due to construction activities. Traffic will be detoured to Burrstone Road east bound to Route 5/8/12 north to Oriskany Street westbound. All traffic south bound on Champlin Ave will be maintained. 

Town of Trenton: (D#264823) Route 12 between Hinman Road and Putnam Road. Motorists will encounter a southbound shoulder closure due to sign installation. 

City of Rome: (D#264604) Route 26 between Route 365 and Erie Blvd. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to landscape work. There will be a 45MPH speed limit reduction during working hours.

City of Rome: Route 46 between North Madison Street and Potter Road. Motorists will encounter south bound lane and shoulder closures with flaggers in place due to utility work.  

HERKIMER COUNTY

Town of Manheim/Town of St Johnsville: (D#264591) Route 5 between Snells Bush Road and Old State Road. Motorists will encounter long term shoulder closures in both directions on the bridge over the East Canada Creek. 

Town of German Flatts: Route 5S between South Washington Street and Plantation Road. Motorists will encounter flagging operations for trucks to cross the road. 

Town of Frankfort, Town of Ilion: Route 5S between Turner Street and Route 51. Motorists will encounter lane closures/ lane shifts in both directions due to paving operations. 

Town of Herkimer: (D#264888) Route 5 between Smalls Bush Road and Eatonville Road. Motorists will encounter shoulder closures in both directions. There also may be lane closures with flaggers in place during working hours due to culvert repair work.

Village of Ilion (D#264961) Route 51 @ East State Street. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to conduit installation. 

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

City of Amsterdam: (D#264031) Route 30 over the Canal. Motorists will encounter Motorists will encounter a section of Minaville Street from 4/3/23-5/31/23 to complete the bridge substructure repair work to the Route 30 ramp bridge. There will also be daily lane closures on Route 30 in both directions for longitudinal sawcut grooving and the installation of new joint seals. A flagger will be in place to direct motorists entering/exiting the Bridge Street and Erie Street ramps. There will be the closure of the Empire State Trail under Route 30 with a signed detour in place due to repairs to the trail.

City of Amsterdam: (D#264508) Route 5 between County Route 157 and Route 30 south bound. Motorists will encounter a westbound lane shift between Church Street and Schuyler Street due to topsoil work. There will also be flaggers at the intersection of Church Street @ Route 5 on May 2 at 930am for approximately 1 hour due to signal work. 

City of Amsterdam: (SIN 25004, 25008) Route 30 south bound between Route 5 west bound and Route 5 east bound. Motorists will encounter lane closures and lane shifts due to overhead sign inspection. 

Town of Sprakers, Town of Sloansville: (D#264744) Route 162 between Route 30A junction and Route 5S. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers and temporary signals in place due to ditching and culvert pipe installation, paving operations.

Village of Palatine Bridge: Route 5 between Mary Street and Glen Ave. Motorists will encounter an east bound lane closure/shift due to watermain work and sidewalk installation. 

Town of Florida: (D#264940) Route 5S between Dufel Road and Broadway. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to tree cutting and survey work.

Village of Fort Plain: (D#264792) Route 80 between Abbott Street and Beck Street. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with the use of temporary signals due to bridge work. 

HAMILTON COUNTY

Village of Speculator: (D#264914) Route 8/30 bridge over Sacandaga River. Motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions with the utilization of temporary signals due to bridge rail removal and replacement. 

Town of Indian Lake: (D#264867) Route 28/30 between Durant Road and Old Route 28. Motorists will encounter lane and/or shoulder closures with flaggers in place due to survey and layout operations. 

Town of Inlet: (D#264867) Route 28 between Seventh Lake Road and Fulton Chain Boat Launch. Motorists will encounter lane and/or shoulder closures in both directions with flaggers in place due to survey and layout operations. 

REGIONAL

Pavement marking operations will be occurring on various routes in Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery and Oneida Counties. Lane closures/shifts with flaggers in place will be expected. All work is weather dependent.
