Another group of avid photographers met on Saturday morning to take a photo walk on Main Street. The first meeting had the group walking Canal Place, Benton’s landing, and down to the lock.
What exactly is a photo walk, and how will this work? It’s simply a group of people who want to get together and walk different specific routes, taking the best pictures that they can. Each person can help others take photos during and after the walk, passing on their knowledge and experience. It’s an easy, non-threatening way to teach your friends or others interested in photography some of the things that you’ve learned.
The instructions are simple: socialize, have fun, and take tons of pictures. Three photo tips were given to start the walk, and then the next two hours were spent taking pictures.
Afterward, the group returned to the studio at 25 W Mill Street, where they downloaded and examined the images, edited them, critiqued them, and even posted them online for everyone to see.
