LITTLE FALLS – Spectrum today announced a donation of $500 to the YMCA Little Falls as part of the company’s philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants. The funding granted will provide continued and expanded free after school youth center program services to children in grades 2-12 to include game room, gym, weight room swimming pool and special events.
There are approximately 85 children active in the program.
“We appreciate Charter Communications’ commitment in helping us provide free after school youth center programs and services to the children of our community,” said Tony DeLuca, Executive Director, YMCA Little Falls. “This program is an important part of our mission to serve the children in our community with meaningful recreation and social development opportunities. We thank Charter and their employees for their generous support.”
“Through Spectrum Employee Community Grants, we’re proud to provide support to vital community organizations with which our local employees are already volunteering their time and talent,” said Mark Leibowitz, Area Vice President, Field Operations at Charter. “Together, we’re building stronger communities where our customers and employees live and work across America.”
Katie Drake, the Spectrum employee who made the submission and ultimately presented the check said, “I’m really thankful for the opportunity to get behind some of the initiatives that this company supports, and on behalf of Spectrum & Charter, to be able to make a donation to the Little Falls Y after school program.”
“I think it’s important for our community and I think that it’s a great cause for us to support,” she said.
In its inaugural year, Spectrum Employee Community Grants provides funding to local nonprofits throughout the company’s 41-state service area. Recipients deliver critical social services, helping underserved residents meet basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, job training, and neighborhood safety. Each awardee is nominated by one of the company’s 98,000 U.S. employees who has volunteered with the organization for at least one year.
