The Syracuse Crunch and Utica Comets, the two Central New York American Hockey League teams, have announced their preseason schedules for the 2023-24 season.

The Crunch and Comets have been regional rivals since 2013, and both play in the AHL North Division. They will face off against each other fourteen times in the 2023-24 regular season and open their schedules against each other on October 13th at the Adirondack Bank Center in Utica.

Each team will play two preseason games, including their in-state rival, the Rochester Americans. On Thursday, October 5th, the Crunch will travel to the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester to face the Americans. Two days later, on October 7th, they will host the Comets at the Upstate Medical University Arena. The Utica Comets will begin their preseason slate at home on October 6th when they host the Rochester Americans at the Adirondack Bank Center. The next day, the Comets will travel to Syracuse to play the Crunch in the game mentioned above.
