Folks in Dolgville are donating in amazing ways to raise money for Audrey Williams. On Friday, 88 Mountain Design was inside Creative Designs by Tiffany, selling the remainder of the shirts they had that hadn’t already been sold.

Cathy Winkler was on hand at the event and said, “Audrey is a 2021 graduate of Dolgeville High School. She was a soccer, basketball, and softball player and an awesome athlete. She’s attending SUNY Geneseo, and on Sunday, February 11th, she started with pain in her mouth, went to urgent care, was sent to the ER trauma center, and then to Rosewell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, where she was diagnosed with Leukemia.”

Audrey just turned 21 on February 18th. “She’s an awesome young lady and a real fighter. She, her parents, and a sister who is in 11th grade are now out in Buffalo,” she said.

Last Tuesday, the girl’s basketball program had an orange game for Audrey. “We had 50/50, a bake sale, and concession stands and raised $4,000 for Team Audrey,” Winker stated.

Gabby Rockwell was a pitcher for the Dolgville girls’ softball team, and Audrey was the catcher.  “They were partners in crime on the team for many years, and her parents own the business that prints the t-shirts for sale here,” Winkler stated.

Rockwell said, “We wanted to do something for Audrey. I’ve known her for a long time. So, we came up with t-shirts, which I designed, and we wanted to do pre-orders so we could give them all the money we collect.”

They made 140 shirts and, on Friday, sold the last of them. Carrie Rockwell said, “We purchased the business almost a year ago and had the resources to do it, so we figured, why not? If it were the other way around, the Williams family would be the first ones to step in and help someone. They’re just a great family.”

Williams will be in the hospital for at least two months during this portion of her treatment. “We’re all praying for her,” Winkler said.

The Girl Scouts and Dopps Inn are doing a chicken BBQ and Chinese auction on March 24th, with all the proceeds going to Team Audrey.
