LITTLE FALLS, NY – When visitors to the Little Falls Cheese Festival on Saturday, July 13th take in over 120 cheeses and a variety of gourmet foods and craft beverages, they won’t have to do so in silence.
In addition to featuring over 80 New York-based food vendors, the Little Falls Cheese Festival will showcase live music from regional talent throughout the day. With 10 different music acts spread across five different locations, there will be no shortage of music at this year’s festival.
“I’m very excited about the musical lineup for this year’s festival,” said Kevin Hughes, talent booker for the Little Falls Cheese Festival who will also be performing at the event. “There will be a lot of variety: Americana, soul, jazz, bluegrass, folk, rock & roll, and more. We’ve brought back some wonderful acts from last year and are bringing in more amazing talent this year. There is so much local talent, it was difficult to choose.”
The Little Falls Cheese Festival will feature musical performances by Cait Devin, Liz Fiddle & The Funky Romance, The Kevin Hughes Quartet, Vada March, Lauren Mettler, Nick & Jay from Floodwood, Nina’s Brew, The Old Main, Pepper & Sassafras, and Jason Schnitt.
“Our festival is not just a celebration of Little Falls’ history but of the region’s creativity,” said Teri Chace of the Little Falls Cheese Festival committee. “We want to celebrate all manner of artisan skill, be it in making cheese, crafting beverages or performing for an audience.”
In addition to the musical acts, the Little Falls Theater Company (LiFT) will perform Where’s the Cheesemonger? by local playwright Angela Harris. There will be two chances to enjoy the play, at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., in the Little Falls Senior/Community Center where the show is free to the public with first come, first served seating. Directed by Cynthia Quackenbush, Where’s the Cheesemonger? is a comedic mystery specially written for this year’s festival.
