The Food Bank of CNY truck pulled up with palletized pre-packed boxes of food for eligible individuals and families residing in the Little Falls School District on Wednesday at the Veterans Memorial Park Complex parking lot.
Members of the Little Falls Volunteer Corp and others loaded the boxes into the trunk of each car.
Tony DeLuca stated, “Through our partnership with the Food Bank of Central New York and our partners, we were able to serve 100 families with three boxes of food for each. We had one box of frozen food, one of dairy, and one of non-perishable items.”
DeLuca said this was the second mass food distribution this month, the other one being in Ilion.
“We were able to do this with the help of the Little Falls Volunteer Corp in cooperation with the City of Little Falls to use the location. It went well,” he stated.
This free mass food distribution was by the Little Falls Area Food Pantry, which is a community service program of The Little Falls Youth & Family Center (YMCA) and the Food Bank of Central New York in cooperation with the Little Falls Volunteer Corp. The City of Little Falls also provided for the free use of Veterans Memorial Field for this event.
