The Women’s Christian Association of Little Falls had its Women of Distinction Breakfast on Wednesday morning at the Little Falls Elks Lodge.

The event was an opportunity to acknowledge and honor women who contribute their time and talents to make Little Falls a better and stronger community.

The event was also a fundraiser that allows the WCA to continue to provide their annual scholarship to a deserving Little Falls City School District student who plans to continue their education after high school.

The sponsor for the event was VanMeter & VanMeter, LLC, and their generosity contributed to the success of the celebration.

Barbara Smith, the WCA President, gave the opening welcome and introductions, while Peggy Scarano was the Mistress of Ceremonies.

Tracy Young was honored in the Education category, Maryanne Terzi in Religion, Caren Woolner in Volunteerism, Kara Milianta in Arts/Music, Roza Karbanov in Health/Wellness, and Deborah Kaufman in Business/Industry.

One comment that was overheard was about how beautiful the printed program was for the event, “It’s like we’re at a White House dinner.”
